Andrew was born December 1st, 1988, in Burlington, Ontario. He was raised in a musical house and got introduced to music at the age of 5 years old. Andrew was introduced to Piano and took lessons for quite a few years and learned music theory at a young age. As he got a bit older, he played a couple of brass instruments in school. He played Baritone for a few years and did that in the school band and then switched to trumpet for a few years. His dream was to learn guitar, but his parents weren’t to open to that. When he was in high school, he continued to play the trumpet and then in grade 11 he took guitar for one of his classes so his parents would get him a guitar. Guitar was the only instrument that didn’t feel like a chore to him to learn. He loved being able to sit down and figure out how to play some of his favourite songs. When he turned 20, he moved out on his own and still played guitar daily. His close friends had a band and he used to go jam and play with them every day. When Andrew moved to Barrie, that’s when he really when things started to take off for him as he was attending most of the open mic and jam nights at the local pubs and bars where he got to meet and play with most of the people in the local music scene. It didn’t take long for him to adapt to that environment and meet some new friends and started a band. They started getting bookings at bars all over Simcoe County, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Collingwood, and Blue Mountain. Andrew had saved up some money and his parents helped him with the rest buying his first PA system.
When Andrew learned how to do sound, all sorts of other doors started opening for him. He had friends who were involved with the hip hop scene. In 2016 Madchild was touring across Canada with Joseph Rose and there was a local tour stop. 2 days before the show he was referred as they needed someone to do sound, lighting, and DJ as the original people hired backed out. One of Andrew’s friends (Christian Primrose) was a DJ, so he brought him along to DJ while he did sound and lighting. Working side by side, Andrew watched what Christian was doing. Later, that same week Andrew purchased his first DJ controller. With doing live music he already had learned how to read a room and knew music theory inside out. After roughly 2 weeks of owning his DJ controller, he was DJing downtown Barrie at the Queens nightclub with Christian.
Andrew grew up in Muskoka and loved spending his summers on the lake and he fell in love with wakeboarding and a bunch of his friends went pro with it. When Andrew moved to Barrie, he got certification to be a wakeboard/wakesurf and waterski instructor. That same summer he got certified, he got 2nd place in his division at Provincials and got some sponsors. He got involved with the wakeboard scene (Wake Canada and Ontario Wake) and started doing sound and DJing for the wakeboard events he was competing in. and then eventually got involved with the snowboard scene and would do the same thing. Eventually snowballing into doing the Burton Mystery tour and getting signed up with RedBull and doing the International World Cup Ski & Snowboard events at some of the nicest ski resorts in Canada also RedBull Crank Worx Downhill Mountain Bike Events and Provincial & National Wakeboard events.
Summer 2017, Andrew was asked by a couple of his friends if he would DJ their weddings. Then started getting booked regularly to DJ weddings and corporate events. As time went on and getting busier with events, he started booking Christian for events and ended up hiring another friend of his (Adam Deim) The three of them were making waves and becoming preferred vendors at all the Ski resorts and ski clubs in Central Ontario along with a pile of other venues across Ontario.
Going into 2020, Andrew had to hit the breaks on everything he had been building up as the world shutdown due to the Global Pandemic COVID-19. Rather then just sit around and do nothing, he used that time to his advantage. After doing years of live music and DJing he had all sorts of content to sit down and design and build a website on his own and work on his Google Business Page and social media. He got a logo made and spent some money on marketing building up his brand and image. Andrew was able to take and apply other business skills that he had learned from running a wakeboard business and get some sponsors to assist with some equipment. As lockdowns ended and events started happening again, Andrew instantly became swamped with events doing everything from RedBull sporting events to DJing for artist who are touring across Canada, weddings, corporate events, and music festivals. Andrew considers him self very fortunate to be able to wake up and do what he loves everyday but he will always tell you, you can do anything you set your mind to but, “Your dreams don’t work unless you do”
